This year I am envisioning a wonderful Christmas. Dear Xmas, I am looking forward to your arrival with an unconcealed excitement and the anticipation of a child. I am beside myself with thoughts of what you will bring. MY inner child is Glad and the adult in me is delighted. I am feeling the spirit and I have tons of plans. I have made my lists and have checked them twice.
I've been counting down the days.
My neighborhood has been transformed. It is now a place that incites admiration and excites wonder with its beauty and sparkling charm. The world is aglow and as far as the eye can see there are lavish displays of lights conspicuously displayed, attracting attention and admiration.
The days are are filled with activities and melodies that evoke a sense of joy and merriment. The nights are stunningly colorful and brilliant and reminiscent of Christmases long, long ago. There is a prevailing attitude of anticipation, that seems to have been recently acquired.
The mood is festive and suggestive of an imminent celebration, the best of which will yet come.
Dear Christmas, it is evident that you have contrived with deliberateness to influence the quality of this season, in a way that is tangible and most welcome. Chestnuts are roasting on open fires, and bells are jingling. We are hanging the mistletoes, while our eyes and hearts are aglow. We are encouraged to "Go tell it on the mountain", that Jesus is the reason for the season, and we are invited to listen as Herald angels sing. The faithful are being called to be joyful and triumphant, and It is the most wonderful time of the year.
I am living for the lights, symbolic decoration, gatherings and thoughts of eventual feasting. Let the merriment continue with riotous jollity.
XOXO, Merry Xmas, Everyone.
